URGENT!! Walker’s War on Wind continues; hearing Feb. 9

Posted on February 4, 2011. Filed under: Economic development, Wind |

PSC 128 (wind siting rule) has been scheduled for a public hearing by Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules.

Mark your calendars for next Wednesday, February 9 at 10:00 a.m.
Capitol, 412 East

We must show up in full force to support the wind siting bill as passed in December.

*Please note: this is a review of the wind siting rule created by the PSC and scheduled to go into effect on March 1, 2011. The Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules (JCRAR) has the authority to suspend the rule. This means that we were able to put enough pressure on the legislature and the administration that they did not feel comfortable moving forward with the Special Session bill (requiring 1800 foot setbacks from host property lines). I think it is safe to say that this is a less sympathetic committee – so we must keep up the momentum with phone calls and e-mails to legislators and letters to local papers. Your colleagues should be making calls as well.

Before Wednesday, you must pick up the phone. Here is a list of our target majority party legislators – please focus on the majority party Republicans and call as many as you can:
